I am SuperMomx3... or at least I try to be.
Each day I attempt to balance my work and career with being a mom, wife and the manager of my household. It isn't easy, but on top of that, I make my friendships a priority, shoot for healthy goals that include 3-4 workouts a week, and I'm committed to volunteering in my community as much as possible (perhaps more than is possible).
I recently signed up for the Bellingham Bay Half Marathon. For those who will join me, here's a training schedule from Hal Higdon with our actual dates added. [click here for pdf]
This was the 3rd or 4th Quest that I participated in. I'm lucky to be able to trade my graphic design skills in return for training, support and guidance from Jenny part of the time.
I especially love Jenny's quests. I benefit from the accountability and planning each week as well as the weekly tracking sheets and the nutrition classes.
I also tap into my competitive side with the points and the cardio challenges.
The Spring Quest was an important element as I trained to run the NODM half marathon in June. I've participated in this event twice before, and it's BEAUTIFUL! Last time I ran 11 miles of it and walked the rest. I didn't quite meet my goal this year to run non-stop, but I did finish slightly better than before. I found that my heart just wasn't in it from the start. Things improved when I realized I was more than 1/2 way done and I turned up my music. Amazing what loud music can do!
